We believe in the importance of the handmade and meeting our neighbors. Our events bring Los Angeles cooks, bakers, gardeners, and foragers together to share their edible creations and develop new friendships.

About the organizer

Emily Han founded LA Food Swap in January 2011 after becoming inspired by a video of an event in Portland. Through the power of social media, Emily connected with other food swap organizers across the country to learn from their experiences and discovered a growing community of hungry swappers throughout Los Angeles. Now she’s dedicated to sharing ideas and tips with anyone who wants to start their own swap in LA or beyond. Together with Kate Payne she founded the Food Swap Network, which provides resources to swap hosts and attendees all over the world.
